Arusha Meru International School (AMIS), formerly known as Arusha Meru Schools, boasts a rich history dating back to 1964. Formed by the Registered Trustees of the Arusha Educational and Cultural Society, AMIS has long been dedicated to providing exceptional educational opportunities to the citizens of Arusha. Through decades of growth and development, AMIS has evolved into a premier international school, offering a comprehensive Cambridge curriculum.
History and Development From its inception, AMIS offered the Tanzanian National Curriculum, supervised by the Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology, and examined by the National Examination Council of Tanzania. In 2013, the school experimented with a merged curriculum, blending the Tanzanian National Curriculum with a Revised British Curriculum. After a successful feasibility study, AMIS fully transitioned to the Cambridge International Curriculum in 2016, delivering globally recognized Cambridge education from Pre Primary to Year 13.
